Synopsis
On a quiet river, two friends take a boat ride together. One plays a soft melody on his ukulele, while the other carries an unassuming pot. They speak in riddles, discussing the weather, each reflecting something personal in the other's words. Their casual conversation masks the depth of their bond, their grief, and the emotions left unspoken. As the journey continues, a moment of vulnerability overwhelms them, and the friend with the ukulele begins to cry. But there’s no one else around. The silence carries a truth that no words can explain.
Director's Statement
This story is personal to me. Growing up in a world where goodbyes often go unspoken, I wanted to explore the quiet moments that define our relationships. It's not just the conversation, but the silence between the words that speaks louder. The weather, the river, the ukulele — all of these elements reflect the beauty of life, with all its fleeting moments, its inevitable separations, and the things we carry with us. PARTING GLANCE is an intimate reflection on friendship, loss, and the complexity of saying goodbye.
